Alison Jenkins – ARPS DPAGB CPAGB/AV BPE1*
Alison Jenkins is an acclaimed and highly decorated photographer whose passion for the art has earned her numerous awards and distinctions. She is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS), holds a Distinction from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (DPAGB), and is certified in audio-visual photography (CPAGB/AV). Alison also holds a Distinction in City & Guilds photography. Her business was honoured as Local Business of the Year in 2019 and was the national runner-up.
Around her day job in IT. Alison now runs photography workshops for individuals and small groups, sharing her expertise in a relaxed, hands-on environment. These sessions are designed to build confidence, deepen technical understanding, and explore creative storytelling—whether you're just starting out or refining your craft. Alongside her workshops, Alison continues to lecture at camera clubs, and serves as a photography competition judge for the East Anglian Federation (A Panel). She has also led after-school photography classes at a local private school, nurturing young talent with warmth and clarity.
Alison leads photography trips to Greece and Norway for NaturesLens, guiding participants in capturing breath-taking images of Dalmatian Pelicans—one of her greatest passions—and Norway for Arctic wildlife such as Snow Puffins, Mountain Hares, and Reindeer. Her enthusiasm and depth of knowledge make these trips both inspiring and educational.
Simon Jenkins – ARPS DPAGB BPE3*
Alison’s husband, Simon, is also an award-winning photographer who often assists her. He holds multiple distinctions, including Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS), a Distinction from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (DPAGB), and British Photographic Exhibition BPE3*. Simon also holds a Distinction in City & Guilds photography.
Alison and Simon occasionally voluntarily run beginner photography workshops for the RSPB, helping newcomers learn how to capture stunning images of birds. All proceeds from these sessions are donated back to the RSPB charity.
